The City of Cedar Hill is excited to announce a new wing at the Alan E. Sims Recreation Center designed specifically for residents aged 55 and better. This project is a direct result of years of community feedback and a continued commitment by City Council to invest in programming and spaces that enhance quality of life for adults in Cedar Hill.
Over the past five years, the City has gathered valuable input from residents to help guide the planning process. Now, two upcoming open houses will provide an opportunity for the community to review current concepts and share final thoughts before the project moves forward.
Public Open House Dates
- Thursday, August 7 at the Cedar Hill Senior Activity Center
1740 Mansfield Road, Cedar Hill, TX 75104 - Thursday, August 14 at the Alan E. Sims Recreation Center
310 E Parkerville Road, Cedar Hill, TX 75104
Based on input already received, the new 13,000-square-foot addition is expected to include spaces for meal programs, computer access, arts and crafts, games, group fitness, lounge areas, and flexible multipurpose rooms, all designed for dedicated use by the 55+ community. We expect the design process for the new wing to take around one year.
Residents are encouraged to attend one of the open houses to learn more and share their ideas as Cedar Hill continues to build a space that reflects the vibrancy and needs of our community.
