In 2025, the City commissioned ETC Institute to conduct a community survey, as follow-up to the 2022 survey, to measure citizen satisfaction with City services and gather feedback about community priorities. The survey results were presented to the City Council at their March 25, 2025 meeting.
Finding Summary
The major findings are:
- Residents have a positive perception of the city - 79% of residents expressed satisfaction with Cedar Hill as a place to live.
- Satisfaction levels in Cedar Hill rated at or above the U.S. average in 54 of the 58 areas that were assessed.
- Satisfaction with customer service was rated 33% above the U.S. average.
- Satisfaction with communication to the public is 33% above the U.S. average.
- Top community priorities are traffic flow and congestion management, maintenance of streets, buildings and facilities, and enforcing codes and ordinance
Specifications
The survey results include comparisons of responses from cities across Texas and the United States. The survey was administered by a combination of mail and online to a random sample of residents. A total of 401 resident households in our community completed the survey, which reflects a plus or minus 4.9% margin of error at the 95% level of confidence, making it statistically valid.
The 2016 survey set the baseline for this and future surveys that will help the City Council and City management determine priorities for the community.
