On Saturday, May 3rd, the Cedar Hill Fire Department will host Wildfire Community Preparedness Day from 9–11 AM at the Cedar Hill Recreation Center. This local event is part of a national campaign aimed at raising awareness and building resilience to wildfires in communities across the country.

Wildfire Community Preparedness Day is observed annually on the first Saturday in May and encourages residents to take proactive steps to protect their homes and neighborhoods. The Cedar Hill event will include guest speakers, vendor booths, educational resources, giveaways, and a food truck—all centered around fire safety and land preservation.

Attendees will hear from fire professionals and community leaders about how to create defensible space and reduce wildfire risks. Though the event takes place on May 3rd, residents are encouraged to continue wildfire preparedness activities throughout the season, which spans from May through October.
