[ARCHIVED] Paper Shredding Event is Back for the Year

Cedar Hill residents are invited to safely dispose of confidential documents at the upcoming Secure Paper Shredding event on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Government Center employee parking lot (285 Uptown Blvd). To help reduce long vehicle lines, residents are encouraged to arrive after 10:00 a.m. If the shredding trucks reach capacity before noon, staff may need to turn residents away.

Residents may bring up to three boxes of residential household paper waste. Boxes should not be overfilled, and for safety reasons, each must be a manageable weight that a single staff member can lift to waist level. Overfilled or excessively heavy boxes may be delayed or refused. Residents have the option to watch the vendor shred their documents or simply drop them off for secure disposal.

This service is available only to Cedar Hill residents. Proof of residency is required. Commercial paper waste is not accepted. Staff reserve the right to turn away non-residents and refuse commercial materials.

Upcoming Secure Paper Shredding dates for 2025 include February 22, April 26, June 28, August 23, October 25, and December 20.

Residents can also schedule a home pickup for household hazardous waste and electronic waste through Waste Management’s At-Your-Door Special Collection. To schedule a collection, visit www.cedarhilltx.com/AYD or call 800-449-7587.
