Inclement Weather Make-up Days
When trash pickup is missed due to inclement weather, service schedules for that week may be affected. For updated information, please make sure to sign up for service alerts.
Trash and recycling services are provided by Waste Management (972-315-5400). Trash and recycling are collected once per week, and bulk items and brush are collected once per month in one pile for residential customers. Commercial customers are billed directly by Waste Management and should contact Waste Management directly for any inquiries.

Holiday & Inclement Weather Make-up Days
Waste Management observes three holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day. When trash pickup is missed due to a holiday or inclement weather, service schedules for that week may be affected. For updated information, please make sure to sign up for service alerts.
2023 Holiday Collection Schedule - For Thanksgiving, Thursday collections will be serviced on Friday, and Friday collections will be serviced on Saturday. For Christmas and New Year’s Day, Monday collections will be serviced on Tuesday, and Tuesday collections will be serviced on Wednesday.
Hazardous Waste: At-Your-Door Service
DIY Disposal (Landfill Access)
Once per quarter at no cost, residents may take materials such as fencing, brush, construction trash etc. to the Waste Management landfill located at 1201 North Central Avenue, in Ferris, TX. The maximum quantity for disposal at no charge is three (3) cubic yards per visit. If you are bringing more than the allotted amount and going into the dump, a hard hat and safety vest is required and can be purchased at the landfill for a total of $16.24. Acceptable forms of payment are credit card, debit card, or check. The landfill does not accept American Express.
Residents will need to present their most recent utility bill and a driver's license with the same address shown on the bill. The landfill is open from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and on Saturdays from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m.
