Welcome Local Authors!

The Zula B. Wylie Public Library wants to support and partner with you.  The time, effort, investment, and hard work that go into writing your own book and publishing it is a huge accomplishment and something to be proud of!  There are multiple ways the library can help you celebrate being a local author, as well as partner with you to share your book with the community.

First and foremost, the library has a Local Authors section within our collection.  Your book can be added to our collection and catalog.  Your book will be at the fingertips of our patrons and the community.

Second, we offer programming that helps authors share their talents, their experiences, and their voice with the community. Local Author programs are planned throughout the year that allow authors to showcase their book and/or the writing process.   These vary from open mic nights, book signings, author panel discussions, meet and greets and more.  The events are by invitation; program coordinators will reach out to authors who will fit well with each program objective.

Third, DAWG – Dallas Area Writers Group – partners with the library and meets at Zula B. Wylie on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7:00pm.  Learn more about DAWG here.

If you are a Local Author and would like to add your book to our collection, be a part of our database and programming, or have questions please fill out the interest form:  Please fill out a Local Authors Interest Form

Please note that all decisions are at Library discretion and subject to change.
