Toilet Is Not A Trash Can

Toilet is Not a Trash Can JPG

During this period of COVID-19 response, we ask that you please do your part to defend your drains.

Please note, the following items DO NOT break down in the sewer pipes of your home, business or in the City’s sewer system. Since these products do not break down, they form clogs that cause sewage to back up in your home, business or neighborhood.  Help defend your drains by disposing of these products in the trash.

FEMININE HYGIENE

Feminine hygiene products are designed to absorb liquids instead of breaking down.

PERSONAL CARE ITEMS

Personal care items such as dental floss, hair, cotton swabs and cotton balls do not break down in water.  They can tangle with other items and block your sewage line.

REMEMBER!

Just because something is used or dirty doesn’t mean it should go down the toilet.

AND

Just because it says it’s flushable, doesn’t mean it really is!
