Water Conservation

Annual Mandatory Summer Months Insert_Graphic OnlyNo Watering Between 10 a.m. & 6 p.m.

Conservation during hot summer months is critical in order to avoid entering Drought Response Stages. The "No Watering Between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m." restriction is effective May 1st and continues until September 30th every year. Other than this summer month restriction, there are no Drought Response Stages in effect at this time.

NOTE: You may water your outdoor plants from hand held containers at any time and soaker hoses may be used on your foundations. This will keep water evaporation to a minimum. Vehicle washing should occur on the lawn using a bucket or at a commercial car wash.

Information Regarding the Declaration of Drought Response Stages

Cedar Hill acquires its water from Dallas Water Utilities (DWU). On occasion, DWU may recommend the implementation of a water restriction stage. Cedar Hill will declare drought response stages based on recommendations from DWU or based on local emergencies that may impact the city's water supply.
