Recycling Service
The City of Cedar Hill encourages recycling. Recycled materials are picked up citywide on Wednesdays. A recycling bin is provided to each new home when connecting water service. Additional bins are available for $6 each at the Utility Billing window at the Government Center.
Recyclable materials include:
  • newspapers, magazines, telephone books, household paper products, junk mail
  • cereal boxes, cardboard
  • aluminum, steel/tin cans
  • glass bottles, #1 through #7 plastic bottles and containers (HDPE & PET).

No sorting is necessary. Please place bins within 3 feet of the alley or curb.

If you have more recycled material than will fit in your bin, or if you are concerned about materials blowing out, you may place recycling in clear trash bags.

Please DO NOT include the following items in your recycled material:
  • motor oil, cooking oil, antifreeze, brake fluid
  • paint cans, pesticide containers
  • packaging materials contaminated with food or grease
  • automotive batteries
  • other hazardous materials
