Preparations for icy weather
Power outages
Please report your outage online by visiting stormcenter.oncor.com or by texting REG to 66267 to use our Text Outage Program. You can also report your power outage by calling Oncor directly at 1.888.313.4747.

Traffic signals
Some traffic signals are out due to power outages. Police have set up stop signs for all directions at those intersections. Drive carefully if you must get out.

Bridge and street sanding

Watch TV coverage of the weather for the latest information on traffic and forecasts. The City's Public Works department has three sanding trucks. Two will be dedicated to working the established sanding routes and one will be available to respond to emergency situations.

The City will sand major thoroughfares in the city and bridges on those roads. We will sand access roads for US67, but will not be on the actual highway, TxDOT will sand state highways.

During freezing periods, please turn off automatic sprinkler systems that may spray roadways, sidewalks, driveways or branches that may fall.

Tree limbs in roadway
Parks and Recreation department staff will be available to clear tree debris that falls onto roadways blocking traffic. Residents can report roadway blockage online at Access Cedar Hill.

Protect water lines

Residents are encouraged to wrap any exposed water lines to avoid freeze damage and subsequent leaks. The after hours number for water emergencies on the City's side of the meter is 972.780.6433.

Pets
Please provide adequate shelter, fresh water (bowls will freeze) and plenty of food for pets. Strays should be reported to Animal Control at 972.223.6111.
