Want to grow your own food?
The City of Cedar Hill and the Cedar Hill Independent School District are partnering in a community-wide gardening effort. Community gardening helps build relationships, teaches kids the benefits of home grown food and encourages everyone to become part of the Growing Green community. 

What is a Community Garden?
Very simply, it is any piece of land gardened by a group of people.

What are the Benefits of Community Gardens?

Cedar Hill has a Community Garden for residents located at: Zula B. Wylie Public Library 225 Cedar Street Currently there are ten garden plots available. In the Spring of 2013 eleven more plots will be added.

How much will it cost me?

The cost of maintaining a plot is free.

Will I need to provide tools?

The basic gardening tools are provided.

What size are the plots?

Each plot is a 4'8" x 12' raised bed.

Is the soil organic?

Yes, the soil is organic and gardeners are encouraged to use all organic products in their garden plot.

Is water provided?

Yes, water and watering hoses are provided by the Library.

How do I sign-up for a garden plot?

If you are interested in having a garden plot, click here to register. You will then be added to the Prospective Community Gardeners List, and notified when a space becomes available.
