The City Council met in their first meeting of the new calendar year and heard an update from City staff on the South Clark Road Corridor.  Representatives from several departments provided information for the presentation which included updates on the newly completed uniform fencing project, the dedicated right-turn lane and storm drainage upgrades.  With the fence completion and receipt of the preliminary design for the right-turn lane and drainage improvements, work can begin on acquisition of a small right-of-way parcel near the intersection and utility clearances.  These last two phases should be completed by September 2013 at which time the City will advertise for bids before awarding the construction contract.  The entire corridor project including landscaping, hardscape and median improvements are expected to be completed by early 2014.
