Wag on Wheels Program for Seniors

Tri-City Animal Shelter is proud to announce the Wag on Wheels Program for Seniors.

If you are a senior and a proud pet owner, a volunteer team is available to come to your home and help with your pet needs all for FREE. Shelter Manager Tammy Miller said that what began as a one-day program of in-home grooming has now grown into a year-round labor of love. Services typically include clipping claws, bathing pets, checking microchips, updating registration information, providing trips to the vet or dropping off a collar or small bag of food. Staff and volunteers make assistance visits seven days a week and some evenings, when needed.

There is no fee for these services, but contributions are accepted; some elderly owners donate newspapers to line cages, and old linens to use as bedding at the shelter. Some choose to leave a legacy of love by designating the Friends of Tri-City Animal Shelter in their will. Businesses or individuals who wish to participate or donate to this program can call Tammy Miller at 972-291-5335.
