January 1, 2013, All Day @ Several areas in and around Cedar Hill. See below for details.
Explore the Cedar Hill area and join us for the longest-running citizen science project in the world! The bird data we collect on this all-day survey will be used by scientists to study long-term trends in North America’s bird populations and helps us better understand bird conservation needs. We’ll count birds across a variety of locations including Cedar Ridge Preserve, Cedar Hill State Park, Dogwood Canyon Audubon Center, Joe Pool Lake, and other spots in the cities of Cedar Hill, Duncanville, DeSoto, and Midlothian. Birders of all levels of expertise are welcome and needed. RSVP for a team assignment and details.
Since the Christmas Bird Count began over a century ago, it has relied on the dedication and commitment of volunteer citizen scientists. In other words, it all starts with you!
