January 10, 2013 @ 7:00 pm --- “Research in the Texas Land Records” Speaker: Don Raney Program will cover Texas’ history, tracing common routes of settlers arriving in the state, & explaining ways that potential land-owners would acquire land in the state. The speaker will discuss types of land grants & land certificates and what the requirements the future land-owners had to fulfill to acquire them. Also includes how to research those records today through the Texas General Land Office. The Cedar Hill Genealogical Society is very pleased to welcome Mr. Raney for this fascinating program.
