NeighborWoods (Free Trees)

This program is currently closed.

For a limited time each year NeighborWoods, a partnership between the City of Cedar Hill Parks and Recreation, and Keep Cedar Hill Beautiful, offers one to two free trees for residents to plant in front lawns throughout town. The citywide effort is designed to improve the appearance of our neighborhoods and enhance the natural beauty of our community.

How to Qualify

Cedar Hill residents that currently have no trees or 1 tree in the front lawn are eligible to receive one additional tree. Residents with two or more trees do not qualify for a free tree at this time. Applicants must agree to plant it in the front lawn of your residence, according to planting instructions, and to water it regularly for a minimum of 2 years.

A limited quantity of three-gallon Shumard Red Oak trees are typically available in April. Residents may apply online to receive a free tree. Once your request is received the city will deliver the tree(s) to your home (while supplies last), with information that includes planting instructions (PDF)
