Discover services and resources that we offer to assist community adults with a variety of needs. Enjoy many events and programs that meet your unique needs while utilizing a variety of print and digital resources inside the library and beyond. What's New
French Conversation Sessions
Improve your French-speaking and listening skills at the library on October 26 and November 16 at 2:00 pm. These sessions will cover topics such as introductions, food, and navigating around the city. Speakers of all levels are welcome! Novice speakers are encouraged to review the Pronunciator 8 week Travel Prep course.

ESL Classes for Adult Spanish Speakers
Free English classes for adult Spanish speakers will meet every Wednesday, at 12:30 pm, starting September 18th and ending October 23rd. Class size is limited. Registration is required.

Partnership Cards
The Zula B. Wylie Public Library and DeSoto Public Library now offer one card for customers that live in DeSoto or Cedar Hill to represent our lending partnership. Anyone who has one of these cards can check out items from the Libraries located in Cedar Hill or DeSoto. Please browse one of our collection catalogs:
Mobile Printing
The Library now offers mobile printing. What does this mean to you?
Customers can print from home using their desktop or laptop computer using the library's mobile print. Customers can also download the PrinterOn app and print from your smart device using the PrinterOn app. If you have any questions, please ask a librarian.

Computer Classes
We offer free computer classes for adults most Wednesdays, at 2 pm and Tuesdays at 7pm. These classes cover a broad range of topics that will provide you with the skills necessary to be computer savvy. Please register by calling 972-291-7323, ext. 1311.

Cedar Hill Genealogical Society Meetings
This society provides educational programs and training in genealogical research during their monthly meetings which are open to the public.

Living with Diabetes Meetings
Learn life skills, tips and suggestions on living with diabetes at these meetings.
Meetings are generally held on the 4th Monday of the month at 6:00 p.m.
Sit & Sew
A class for adults who love sewing or want to learn how to sew. Space is limited. Please call 972-291-7323, ext. 1300 to register.
TexShare Databases
Think of the TexShare Databases as your "virtual library" that provides access to an extensive collection of online databases offering authoritative, commercial free, full-text articles from subscription-only sources. They provide information on topics such as health, business, biography and genealogy, literature, science and technology, as well as homework help for students, plus ebooks. This "virtual library" of information is available in the library or from your home and office.
To obtain the username and password contact the library at 972-291-7323. These databases are available exclusively to Texans as a service of the Texas State Library and Archives Commission and the Zula Bryant Wylie Library.
Ancestry Library Edition
ProQuest has partnered with MyFamily.com to create Ancestry Library Edition, one of the most important genealogical collections available today. It has unparalleled coverage of the United States and the United Kingdom, including census, vital, church, court, and immigration records, as well as record collections from Canada and other areas. Currently, Ancestry Library Edition is only accessible at the library and not from a remote computer.
Driving Tests
Learn when to yield, where to park and what all those road signs mean! This free DMV practice test covers the most important traffic signs and their meanings. Visit Driving-tests.org.

ReferenceUSA is the premier source of business and residential information. Search for jobs, location, and industry. Find new business opportunities. Research executives and companies worldwide. Profile a neighborhood, city or state. For remote access, use your 14 digit library card number when prompted.
ProCitizen
ProCitizen is an online course that prepares you for the Naturalization Test. With 100 videos, plus interactive drills and quizzes, you will learn everything you need to succeed. ProCitizen is available for free, exclusively at your library! ProCitizen must be accessed using Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Pronunciator is the world's largest language-learning service. With Pronunciator, you have access to courses for over 80 languages, spoken by 95% of the world's population. If your native tongue isn't English, don't worry! You can choose any of 50 languages to take your course in.
