Cedar Hill Food Pantry

The Cedar Hill Food Pantry is a community-wide effort to alleviate hunger in our city. We are pledged by our by-laws to provide food and other assistance, without discrimination, to eligible needy families living in the Cedar Hill Independent School District. For more information please visit the Cedar Hill Food Pantry website.

Our History
The Pantry, a Texas non-profit 501(c)(3) agency, has been serving this community since 1989. It started as a grass-roots organization headquartered in the kitchen of the First United Methodist Church. Today it continues as a community-supported service under the direction of a committed board of 16 residents. Services are provided by a very small staff and volunteers.

After outgrowing the church space and another shopping center location, the Pantry moved to its current location at 403 Houston in 2006. The land and building were acquired and built totally with donations.

Serving The Community
Cedar Hill Food Pantry serves over 300 families monthly, providing food for anyone living within the Cedar Hill School District boundaries and qualified under TEXCAP.

In 2006, the New2You Thrift Store was opened to help support the Pantry's efforts. The store is located at 302 S. Clark.
